IIT-Kgp plans fin aid for students in bid to boost global internships
Kolkata, India – In a significant move to enhance its global presence, the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT-Kgp) has announced plans to provide financial and institutional support to students pursuing international internships. This initiative, which will be launched during the institute’s platinum jubilee celebration, aims to assist at least 100 BTech, five-year dual degree, and MTech students in taking up international internships and participating in study abroad programs under the semester away initiative.

The Global Challenge Scheme and International Summer Research Programme will provide fully funded, long-duration research opportunities for top international students and researchers, allowing them to collaborate with IIT-Kgp teams on significant global issues.

In addition to student support, IIT-Kgp is introducing a Platinum Jubilee Bilateral Research Initiation Scheme. This program will offer Rs 50 lakh (approximately $60,000) in seed funding per project for jointly conceived research with premier global partners.
