IIM Raipur celebrates 15th Annual Convocation

On April 4, 2026, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur held its 15th Annual Convocation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s journey. The event took place on the campus and celebrated the achievements of 552 graduates from various programs, reinforcing IIM Raipur’s vision of nurturing future business leaders.

Graduating Cohort

The convocation ceremony awarded degrees to a diverse group of students across multiple programs:

  • MBA Programs: 314 students received their degrees, including:
    • 278 students from the PGP 2024–26 batch
    • 36 students from the PGP 2023–25 International Student Exchange batch
  • Executive MBA Programs: 230 students graduated, comprising:
    • 200 students from Executive MBA Batch 4
    • 30 students from Executive MBA HRM Batch 1
  • Doctoral Programs: 8 scholars were awarded degrees, including:
    • 6 from the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)
    • 2 from the Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM)

Keynote Address

The Chief Guest for the ceremony, Dr. S. Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India, delivered an inspiring address to the graduating batch. He emphasized the pivotal moment in India’s journey and the role of Indian professionals in the global landscape. Dr. Jaishankar stated:

“You are graduating at a defining moment in India’s journey. India today stands at the intersection of demographic energy, technological capability, and growing global engagement.”

He urged the graduates to be adaptable, principled, and curious, highlighting that these qualities would not only lead to successful careers but also contribute to societal progress.

Words of Wisdom from the Board

Puneet Dalmia, Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIM Raipur, also addressed the graduates. He remarked on the era of rapid change influenced by artificial intelligence, climate transitions, and digital disruption. Dalmia encouraged the graduates to:

  • Remain lifelong learners
  • Lead with integrity
  • Create an impact beyond personal achievements

He concluded by stating that true success would be measured by the difference made in the lives of others rather than by titles or salaries.

Achievements and Future Vision

Professor Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-Charge of IIM Raipur, shared insights into the institute’s achievements and future aspirations. He articulated the philosophy guiding IIM Raipur:

“Sva-Karma Niratah Siddhim — through one’s role-actions, one attains perfection.”

Professor Prashar emphasized that true success is achieved through disciplined effort, integrity, and a commitment to purpose. He encouraged the graduates to carry forward the legacy of IIM Raipur with confidence and determination to make a meaningful impact in the world.

Significant Milestones

This year marked several important milestones for IIM Raipur:

  • New MBA Programs: The institute launched two new MBA programs:
    • MBA in Public Policy, developed in collaboration with the Government of Chhattisgarh
    • MBA in Energy Management, designed for professionals from HPCL
  • International Case Conference: IIM Raipur hosted the 1st International Case Conference (ICC 2026) on Contemporary Business Practices in Emerging Markets in January 2026.
  • AACSB Accreditation: The institute organized a two-day workshop as part of its strategic roadmap towards AACSB International accreditation, reinforcing its commitment to global academic quality and institutional excellence.

Placement Success

IIM Raipur continued to experience strong recruiter participation during the placement season. A total of 167 recruiters participated in the final placement process, including 45 new recruiters. Major companies that recruited from IIM Raipur included:

The highest compensation offered to graduates was ₹42.66 lakh per annum, while the average and median compensation stood at ₹20.93 lakh per annum and ₹20.40 lakh per annum, respectively.

Campus Development and Financial Growth

IIM Raipur achieved a major milestone with the planned expansion of its Phase II campus infrastructure. The institute secured a commitment of ₹250 crore towards this development, which includes:

  • Four hostel blocks with 712 rooms
  • A new academic block
  • An auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,500 people
  • A dining block
  • Bus parking facilities

As IIM Raipur celebrates this milestone, it continues to reinforce its commitment to academic excellence and the development of future business leaders.
