AIIMS Bhubaneswar Marks 3rd Annual Research Day & 2nd Regional Research Conclave 2025
Bhubaneswar, November 8, 2025 – AIIMS Bhubaneswar celebrated its 3rd Annual Research Day and 2nd Regional Research Conclave 2025 on Thursday. This event provided a vibrant platform to promote research excellence, academic collaboration, and innovation in healthcare and medical science.
Event Highlights
The conclave was graced by Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary of the Department of Health Research, Government of India, and Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), who served as the Chief Guest. Other notable dignitaries included:

Themes and Objectives
This year’s theme was “Medical Innovation: The Need of the Hour for Atmanirbhar Bharat, Viksit Bharat.” The conclave witnessed active participation from:

- Representatives from premier institutions such as IIT Bhubaneswar and Kharagpur, VSSUT Burla, NISER Bhubaneswar, IISER Berhampur, and others.

Innovation and Collaboration
The event provided a dynamic opportunity for medical researchers, basic scientists, technologists, and entrepreneurs to interact. The aim was to convert start-up concepts into viable healthcare products and solutions. AIIMS Bhubaneswar has partnered with technological innovators such as:

These collaborations are focused on building an innovation hub for medical technology. In addition, the institute has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with international universities, including Western Sydney University in Australia, to introduce integrated PhD programs.
Research Development Initiatives
AIIMS Bhubaneswar has also collaborated with the ICMR to develop high-quality clinician-scientists, addressing a critical national need. Recently, the institute established a Central Research and Skill Laboratory for multidisciplinary research and regional skill development. This facility was inaugurated by Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda.
Looking ahead, the institute plans to establish a bio-incubation centre aimed at supporting innovations in:
