IIT Bhubaneswar Holds 4th Alumni Meet
Bhubaneswar, December 29, 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar recently organized its 4th Alumni Meet on December 27th and 28th, with the aim of reconnecting with its alumni and celebrating their achievements beyond graduation. This two-day event provided a vibrant platform for alumni to revisit the campus, engage with faculty members and current students, and share valuable feedback for the institute’s continued growth.
Inaugural Session Highlights
The inaugural session of the meet featured an interaction led by Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, the Director of the Institute. He highlighted recent developments and initiatives undertaken by IIT Bhubaneswar in several key areas, including:

On the first day of the meet, an interactive session titled “Adapting to AI: IITBBS & Alumni” was organized. This session featured Dr. Debi Prasad Dogra, Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, along with several alumni speakers. They discussed emerging trends and challenges in the adoption of artificial intelligence, providing insights into how the Institute and its alumni can adapt to this rapidly evolving field.
Additionally, Prof. Ashis Biswas delivered a talk on his recent research breakthrough titled “Development of a Novel TB Vaccine Candidate—HSP Subunit Vaccine in Adjuvant (DDA) Against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.” This presentation highlighted the Institute’s commitment to addressing global health challenges through innovative research.
Entrepreneurship Insights and Heritage Visit
On the second day, alumni interacted with members of the IIT Bhubaneswar Research & Entrepreneurship Park and entrepreneurs from incubated startups. This interaction provided valuable insights into the Institute’s efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship within the state of Odisha. Alumni were able to learn about various initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among students and graduates.
As part of the two-day program, a heritage visit to the Dhauli Shanti Stupa was also organized. This visit allowed alumni to explore the rich cultural heritage of the region and connect with the historical significance of the site.
Cultural Evening and Conclusion
The 4th Alumni Meet concluded with a vibrant cultural evening presented by Parampara, the cultural club of IIT Bhubaneswar. This event showcased the artistic talents of current students and provided a platform for alumni to enjoy and celebrate the cultural diversity of the Institute.
