IIT Indore, IIM Indore invite applications for joint MSc in Data Science and Management: Apply now
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore have announced the opening of applications for their two-year Master of Science in Data Science and Management program. This joint initiative aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the rapidly growing field of data science.
Program Overview
The MSc in Data Science and Management will be conducted in a blended learning format, combining online instruction with in-person modules at both institutes. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of data science, covering essential topics such as:

Curriculum Structure
The curriculum is divided into six trimesters, progressing from foundational to advanced courses. The first four trimesters will cover a variety of subjects, including:

In the fourth and fifth trimesters, students will have the opportunity to select from a range of electives offered by both institutes. The final trimester will involve a project guided by faculty members from IIT Indore and IIM Indore.
Learning and Evaluation
The program will feature approximately 14 to 15 hours of live lectures per week, with classes scheduled for two hours each day on weekdays and four to five hours on Saturdays. The tentative timings for weekday classes are:
- 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- 8:15 PM – 9:15 PM
Students will be evaluated continuously through online assignments and quizzes, culminating in end-trimester examinations. A mandatory in-person contact period of one month will be split into two blocks of 15 days each, allowing for direct interaction with faculty and access to research facilities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the program:
- Hold a degree in BTech, BE, BS, BPharm, BArch, BDes, BFTech, Four years BSc, MSc, MCA, MBA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Have completed at least two courses in Mathematics and one in Computer Programming during their qualifying degree.
- Achieve a First Class or a minimum of 60% or 6.0 CPI/CGPA (on a scale of 10) in their qualifying degree.
- Relaxation for SC/ST/PwD categories will be provided as per Government of India rules.
Additionally, applicants must have a valid score from CAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE, or JAM obtained within the last three years or must take the Data Science and Management Aptitude Test (DMAT), which will be conducted on:
- Phase-I: March 29, 2026
- Phase-II: June 7, 2026
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, and final selection will be based on interview performance.
Intake and Admission Process

Application Fees
The application fees are structured as follows:
- For Indian Applicants (not opting for DMAT): Rs. 1770/-
- For International Applicants (Including OCI/PIO/NRI, not opting for DMAT): Rs. 2300/-
- For those opting for DMAT: Rs. 2360/- (Indian) and Rs. 2890/- (International)
Program Fees
The total fee for the program is:
- Rs. 14.4 Lakhs for Indian participants
- Rs. 15.6 Lakhs for International participants
This fee will be collected in three equal installments throughout the duration of the program.
Commencement of Classes
