Solve for Tomorrow 2025: How Young India Is Using AI for a Safer, Smarter & Inclusive Bharat

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes a central pillar of India’s digital transformation, it is driving advancements in safety, accessibility, and empowerment in everyday life. The Samsung Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) 2025 initiative, in collaboration with IIT Delhi, has brought together thousands of students from across the nation to create real-world AI solutions under the theme “AI for a Safer, Smarter and Inclusive Bharat.” This article highlights the key aspects of this initiative and the innovative solutions put forth by young minds in India.

1. A Theme Focused on Social Impact

The theme of this year’s SFT encouraged students to design technologies that significantly enhance safety in public spaces, improve accessibility for the visually impaired, and facilitate real-time emergency response. The focus was not only on technological advancement but also on creating a positive social impact.

2. The Innovators & Their Breakthroughs

Among the participants, several teams stood out with their innovative solutions:

  • Chakravyuh (Uttar Pradesh): Developed a drone-enabled AI monitoring system to send alerts on infiltration activities at borders.
  • Error 404 (Uttar Pradesh): Created an AI-powered safety app for women featuring real-time fall detection and emergency response capabilities.
  • Passionate Problem Solver (Delhi): Designed a decentralized smart energy meter system with AI-based encryption and predictive alerts.
  • Sicario (Delhi): Introduced AI glasses that provide real-time face recognition and offline navigation support for visually impaired users.

3. Theme Winner: Percevia

The top team under this theme was Percevia, led by Bengaluru student Tushar Shaw. This team created AI-powered glasses that offer object detection and location-based guidance, enabling safer and more independent mobility for visually impaired users. Their innovative approach exemplifies the potential of AI to transform lives and enhance independence for individuals with disabilities.

4. National Winners Beyond AI

In addition to the theme winner, several other national winners were recognized for their outstanding contributions:

  • NextPlay.AI: An AI sports coaching platform designed to enhance athletic performance.
  • Paraspeak: A deep-learning speech-clarification device aimed at improving communication for individuals with speech impairments.
  • Prithvi Rakshak: A gamified sustainability app that encourages environmental awareness and action among users.

5. The Support That Makes It Possible

The winners of SFT 2025 received substantial support to bring their ideas to fruition. They were awarded up to ₹1 crore in incubation support at IIT Delhi. Additionally, top teams received grants of ₹1 lakh, Goodwill Awards, Young Innovator Awards, and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones to aid in their development efforts.

6. A Platform Creating Future Changemakers

Participants in the SFT initiative gained access to FITT Labs, mentorship from both academia and industry, and design-thinking training focused on empathy-driven, responsible AI. Since its inception in 2010, SFT has engaged 2.9 million young innovators across 68 countries, continuing to shape the next generation of problem solvers in India.

Conclusion

The Samsung Solve for Tomorrow initiative showcases the incredible potential of young minds in India to leverage AI for societal benefit. By focusing on safety, accessibility, and inclusivity, these students are not only addressing pressing challenges but also paving the way for a brighter future. Their innovative solutions reflect a commitment to using technology as a force for good, ensuring that the digital transformation of India is both inclusive and empowering.
