The Indian Institute of Management Jammu has officially opened applications for the Yuva Sangam Phase VI, a prominent youth exchange program under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative, initiated by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This program is designed to foster emotional bonds among the youth and promote the spirit of unity in diversity through immersive cultural and educational exchanges across various regions of India.

About Yuva Sangam

Implemented under the Department of Higher Education, Government of India, Yuva Sangam facilitates structured exposure visits between paired States and Union Territories. The primary aim is to provide young participants with a deeper understanding of India’s diverse cultural traditions, developmental initiatives, and social landscapes while fostering mutual respect and national integration.

Program Details

As part of this national cultural exchange initiative, the Indian Institute of Management Jammu will collaborate with the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode to facilitate immersive exposure visits to Kerala, known as God’s Own Country, and the picturesque islands of Lakshadweep. The program invites applications from youth aged 18–30 years from Kerala and Lakshadweep, providing them with an opportunity to experience the region’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, development initiatives, and educational ecosystems while building meaningful connections across states and union territories.

Duration and Activities

Selected participants will engage in 5–7 day educational and cultural immersion tours. These tours will include:

  • Engagement with local communities
  • Visits to educational institutions
  • Interactions with local stakeholders
  • First-hand exposure to the unique socio-cultural and developmental landscape of the host region

The program is structured around five thematic pillars, known as the 5 Ps:

  • Paryatan – Tourism
  • Parampara – Traditions and Culture
  • Pragati – Development and Governance
  • Paraspar Sampark – People-to-People Connect
  • Prodyogiki – Technology and Innovation

Application Process

In addition to IIM Jammu, the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has also invited applications from youth aged 18–30 years from Kerala and Lakshadweep. Interested participants can apply through the official portals:

Collaboration and Coordination

As part of the program, IIM Kozhikode will partner with the Indian Institute of Management Jammu to facilitate immersive exposure visits to the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Participants will have the chance to experience the region’s vibrant cultural heritage, traditions, development initiatives, and educational institutions, thereby strengthening people-to-people connections across regions.

Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson of Anandam – The Center for Happiness and Media & Publication, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for the program. Meanwhile, Prof. (Brigadier) (Retd) Neeraj Soni, Co-Chairperson of Anandam, is responsible for coordinating the entire program at the IIM Jammu end.
