IIT Startup BotLab Dynamics Makes Another Guinness World Record During Mysuru Dasara Drone Show

In a remarkable display of technological prowess, BotLab Dynamics, an IIT Delhi-incubated deep drone tech startup, achieved its sixth Guinness World Record during the prestigious Mysuru Dasara 2025 celebrations. This milestone, certified on September 28, 2025, represents a significant advancement for India’s drone technology capabilities and positions the nation among global leaders in large-scale drone show storytelling.

The Record-Breaking Achievement

The record was awarded for the “Largest aerial display of a mammal formed by multirotors/drones,” featuring an extraordinary tiger formation created using a fleet of 3,000 indigenously developed drones. Out of these, 2,983 drones successfully lit up the night sky, forming a breathtaking representation of the tiger, which is recognized as India’s national animal.

This spectacular formation was witnessed by over 35,000 spectators daily at the Bannimantap Parade Grounds, who erupted in applause as the massive, glowing tiger emerged in the night sky. This historic moment unfolded during BotLab Dynamics’ fourth consecutive year performing drone shows at the Mysuru Dasara festival, a partnership that continues to blend tradition with cutting-edge technological innovation.

The Drone Show Series

BotLab Dynamics presented a series of four drone light shows at Mysuru Dasara on September 28, 29, and October 1, 2, each featuring 12 intricately crafted formations. However, it was the record attempt on September 28 that captured global attention, solidifying India’s name in the Guinness World Records once again.

A New Benchmark for India in the Global Drone Show Industry

Globally, massive drone shows have often been dominated by large Chinese companies, which have set the standard for complex formations and scale. For years, international audiences believed that such advanced aerial displays were beyond the reach of most other countries. However, the Mysuru Dasara 2025 celebrations decisively changed that narrative.

The Tiger Drone Formation not only matched global standards but exceeded expectations in both scale and artistic delivery. Following the show, national and international media outlets praised the precision of the display, with videos of the tiger formation circulating widely on social media platforms. Viewers around the world expressed admiration and surprise that such a flawless mega-show had been developed, manufactured, and executed entirely in India.

Previous Achievements

This new world record builds on BotLab Dynamics’ extraordinary performance in 2024, when the company secured five Guinness World Records in a single show at the Amaravati Drone Summit in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on October 22, 2024. This show was powered by an impressive fleet of 5,500 drones.

The Five Titles Achieved in 2024

  • Largest Aerial Display of a Vehicle
  • Largest Aerial Landmark Display
  • Largest Aerial Display of a Planet
  • Largest Aerial Logo Display
  • Largest Aerial Image of a Flag

BotLab Dynamics: An Indian Success Story

Founded within the halls of IIT Delhi, BotLab Dynamics has emerged as one of India’s most influential drone show companies and is ranked among the top five in the world. The company is reshaping how events, festivals, and governments engage audiences at scale. Notably, all drone show systems are designed and manufactured in India, which differentiates BotLab Dynamics and aligns with the nation’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance) movement.

By achieving yet another Guinness World Record, BotLab Dynamics has strengthened its position as a global competitor in an industry traditionally led by a handful of international players.

Reflections on the Achievement

Reflecting on this remarkable achievement, Dr. Sarita Ahlawat, Co-founder and Managing Director of BotLab Dynamics, stated, “This milestone is a proud moment for our team and for India’s drone-tech ecosystem. The Tiger formation reflects the strength and creativity our country is capable of. Since the record, we’ve seen a surge in interest from major corporate and government bodies in attempting more Guinness World Records; it’s created a ripple effect, and we have some exciting projects ahead, so stay tuned.”

Conclusion

BotLab Dynamics continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in drone technology, showcasing India’s capabilities on a global stage. Their commitment to innovation and excellence not only enhances the country’s reputation in the creative-tech and entertainment industries but also inspires future generations of engineers and entrepreneurs.
