Indian Knowledge Systems Take Centre Stage at Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan

From December 26 to 29, 2025, the Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan (BVS) was held at the National Sanskrit University in Tirupati, India. This national-level event focused on the theme ‘Indian Thought for Holistic Development’ and brought together approximately 1,250 delegates from 32 States and Union Territories across the country.

The third day of the event featured a series of panel discussions, round table meetings, and cultural performances that showcased India’s rich scientific and cultural heritage.

One of the key discussions was centered on the topic of semiconductors and fabrication technologies, which are critical for India’s industrial growth. This session was coordinated by Professor Bulusu Anand from IIT Roorkee and included notable experts such as:

Quantum Computing Session

Another significant session was dedicated to ‘Quantum Computing and Applications for a Developed India’, chaired by Professor Dr. Mrityunjay Guha Majumdar from Amrita University. Panelists from IIT Roorkee, HNB University, and IIT Tirupati discussed the transformative potential of quantum computing and its implications for India’s future progress.

Cultural Events

One of the most engaging activities of the day was the ‘Know Your Heritage’ competition. This initiative aimed to promote awareness of India’s cultural and scientific heritage. Out of 240 entries received nationwide, 40 were shortlisted, and 26 students participated in person, showcasing their projects through posters and reels. The winners of this competition will be honored at the valedictory function.
