IIM Jammu Launches Leadership Program for SAIL Young Managers
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has officially commenced the second edition of its Leadership Development Program (LDP) aimed at young managers from the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The program is designed to enhance leadership skills, strategic thinking, and organizational impact among participants.
Inaugural Session Details
The inaugural session of Batch II took place at the Nyay (267) Classroom in the Vedanta MDP Centre. This significant event was attended by 35 officials from SAIL, marking the beginning of a transformative one-year journey focused on leadership excellence.

Program Structure and Objectives
Dr. Atanu Mukherjee described the program as a journey-based initiative aimed at grooming the “cream of the organization.” The structure of the program includes:
- Four months of intensive training at IIM Jammu
- Eight months of training at MTI Ranchi
- Ongoing online academic support from IIM Jammu faculty during Phase II
Participants are encouraged to cascade their learning across the organization, disseminate knowledge through case studies, and produce documented action reports that present measurable outcomes supported by objective evidence.

Dr. Mukherjee reaffirmed SAIL’s confidence in IIM Jammu’s academic excellence and urged participants to maximize their learning by utilizing the institutional resources available, including the state-of-the-art Nalanda library and the expertise of IIM Jammu faculty.
